Handy garden centre, not quite as smart as Shoots, but quite a range of home and garden essentials and gifts. By June the wooden garden furniture was reduced. I did fancy a most unusual circular gazebo reduced to £399. Where's my millionaire - or a lottery win when you need one. Delivery prices are on the wall. Plants outside, clearly labelled sections with the types of roses. I want large and scented. Those of us who are short-sighted want large roses. I have a row of roses and one went to join the great garden in the sky. My gardener says, 'if you plant now, you have to water every day. Wait until September.'Another garden centre told us it's end of season because roses are delivered in spring (funny my roses come out in June) but this garden centre was expecting another delivery tomorrow. I want to see and smell what I'm buying.Knicknacks indoors in the shop all kinds of garden paraphernalia and included funny birthday cards and bargain books and CDs. Jams too. You might find lower prices at the nearby Oxhey Lane Farm Shop, so it's fun to stop at both places and do a comparison.Small indoor cafe Seasons Coffee Shop has brightly coloured walls, and serves a lunch special written on the blackboard. My companion says derisively, 'a little plastic place serving cheap lunches to pensioners.' Oh - that's what I thought was nice about it. If you don't want to have a lunch in a pub where young men drink alcohol and say four-letter words, go to a garden centre like this one and sit with the whispering polite pensioners. Amusing pun motto 'a growing reputation'.Free car park. Open seven days a week.Monday to Friday 9-6. Sundays 9.30-5,30. Map on back of their business card.

I have been shoping at Carpenders Park Nursery practically since the day it opened. Hanif and Abdul, who own the business, are always on hand and extreemly knowldgable on all things horticultural. This really is Watfords best kept secret, a real gerden centre with real people, that really know there stuff.
Khalida bharmal has rated this garden centre highly. How funny because she is the owner of the garden centre. So either she suffers from memory lapses that she's just forgotten her way whilst going to Northwood or she's just trying to promote an ailing business
I discovered a fantastic Plant Nursery and Garden Centre on the borders of Harrow and Watford. It's a large place with lots of parking and a huge garden centre that's mostly under cover. The plant range is enormous and their prices are very keen. Staff seem to know what they're talking about and they're all so friendly. I woiuld never have found the place had it not been for me taking the wrong turning, whilst on my way to Northwood to visit a friend. The place could do with better signs - they may get more customers!
