Total re furbishment!!!!

It's quite a task looking at a property for the first time with a client and trying to get all the elements right.Firstly the client, usually the owner of the property has a vision for what they want to do... the budget they have.. which in most cases is for as little as possible for the best quality work that the money can buy.Then there's the reality, what really has to be done to make the property habitable, safe, clean and pleasant!Of course the level of work will be reflected in the price, it's rare that you can do a cheap job and get the very best finish as a cheap job means that we just can't spend huge amounts of time on the job, but we can certainly make the most of the time we have making the property habitable, clean, safe and pleasant!With a bit more of a budget, this can be added to, we can make some major alterations, a new kitchen, a brand new bathroom with pristine white goods etc. Some clients want the top end product.. and we love to deliver these elements, it's fun to install all the great innovative products and rally see a major change to a space.What really counts though is a good relationship between us and the client .. get that wrong and everyone suffers, usually resulting in stress all round.. and luckily this has only happened to me once... ( honest truth) and once is more than enough !!!at the time ( a few years ago now) we kept discussing it, my business partner and I and other mates in the same field, and we all said... well hopefully in the end it's going to be a positive experience, we will NEVER do things that way again!!! But get the client relationship right and it's a great business to be in.. an honest day's work for an honest day's pay.. day by day and week by week you can see the progress of the work on front of you and deliver what you set out and agreed at the start of the process. Of course you can never fully predict what can happen in the job.. but we can say with certainty that some of the things that usually crop up... bad walls under paper... floors not being level etc all simple problems that are standard and easy to correct. All in all I do feel passionate about this work, and really enjoy the total re-furb's as it gives me a chance to really get stuck into a project.. and deliver.. with a little help from my friends.. the plumber, the electrician the plasterer.. what would I do without those blokes!!!

Building a wall with a huge TV hidden inside!

This month I built a new wall for a client with a Huge Plasma TV nested inside... The idea came as the client and his wife were in 2 minds.. he wanted the huge TV to be seen and she wanted it hidden away so it didn't dominate the room... Between us, we came up with the idea of creating a new wall in the corner of the room, and to create a 'flat' look across the wall so the screen just nested inside, making it appear less invasive in the space... Luckily they were delighted with the results, all the cables were hidden inside the wall and I worked out that I could make a great storage cupboard underneath for all the extra equipment, dvd player etc... which was also a bonus for their DVD's and games console! It was a good idea that turned into a great one!

  Adam was recommended to me by a friend. He designed and built my kitchen with imagination and skill. The job was finished on time and exceeded my expectations. So good that my neighbour also employed him to fit his kitchen!

  I required bespoke corner cupboards to be made for my bathroom. Adam came up with a cost effective solution and completed the project on time and on price. They look great.
