I have a degree in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling. I also have over ten years experience in various venues, including an alcohol recovery project, GP surgery, a hospice, a youth centre, schools, and work for organisations i.e. banks, tesco, virgin trains. My employment has been in the NHS, including mental health. Counselling offers you the opportunity to discuss how you feel. A time set aside for you to explore feelings. The aim of counselling is to enable you to understand and accept yourself, to change your behaviour to that which is more rewarding to you, and to help you move toward becoming the kind of person you want to be. I offer short and long term counselling. I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I use various theories depending on the clients needs at the time. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I am also a member of the following divisions of BACP: Counselling Children and Young People. Association for Independent Practitioners. In addition, I am a member of Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Primary Care, which is a member organisation of the Psychotherapeutic Counselling Section of UKCP - United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
